TRACKING INFLUENCERS IN THE NEWS IN JULY 2021

Animalhealth Europe Association: Hans-Guenther Dittrich from the German animal pharma company MSD has been appointed as president of the AnimalhealthEurope association.

APCO Woldwide: Paolo Compostella, managing director of APCO Worldwide’s Italy offices, is stepping up to become the public affairs and comms consultancy’s new European president, in a leadership shake-up prompted by the departure of Claire Boussagol, who’s just started as CEO at POLITICO Europe. Roi Feder, meanwhile, becomes managing director of the firm’s London operations after doing the job on an interim basis.

Bain & Company: Bain & Company has promoted Vincent Goffin and Phi Hai Nguyen to partners in its Brussels office.

BOLDT: BOLDT has appointed Raphaël Delli as a partner in its Brussels office.

BSA The Software Alliance: Hadrien Valembois, previously a policy officer at the Europe Office of the International Trademark Association, joins BSA as a senior policy manager for the EMEA region.

Cambre Associates: Andrea Tognoni, who heads the external relations and trade practice, has been promoted to account director at Cambre Associates. This follows the promotion of Nathalie Rubin-Delanchy, head of the sustainability practice, to account director, Vanessa Terrier, creative coordinator, to senior account manager, and Anne-Claude Martin, media coordinator, to account manager.

Dentons Global Advisors (DGA): Strategic advisory firm Dentons Global Advisors (DGA) is acquiring fellow consultancy Interel with the aim of expanding its global presence. DGA, which was launched earlier this year, is now made up of the Albright Stonebridge Group, Interel and a host of other communication and strategy consultants. Interel will now be known as Dentons Global Advisors Interel.

Deutsche Telekom: Benjamin Ledwon is joining Deutsche Telekom as a senior expert on European Affairs. He was previously the head of the Brussels office for tech lobby Bitkom.

Edelman Germany: Edelman Germany has appointed Nils Giese as managing director of health care, focusing on the expansion of the global health care business out of Germany.

EPPA: Isabel de Castro Asarta, previously director at Interel, has joined EPPA’s leadership as associate partner to lead the firm’s practice in the field of sustainability. Heinz Christmann also joined the company as a senior adviser, working for clients across the medical devices, automotive and textile sectors around sustainability. Giulia Cosenza, formerly a senior consultant at Interel, joins as a senior account manager, working mainly in the food, textile and chemical sectors. Carlos Sokól-Szahin Criado, previously a senior consultant at Interel, is now a senior account manager in the areas of sustainability and climate and will be working to further develop the EU funding practice of the firm.

ePure, the European renewable ethanol association: Valérie Corre from French agri cooperative Tereos has been elected president of ePURE, the European renewable ethanol association.

EUMEPS- the European expanded polystyrene (EPS) industry: Jürgen Lang, who has been the trade and taxation adviser at EuroCommerce for the past three years, will start July 1 as managing director of EUMEPS.

European Aluminium: After more than a decade in the energy industry, Pia Alina Lange joins the raw materials sector as director for public affairs and communications at European Aluminium.

European Council of Young Farmers: Diana Lenzi from Italy has been elected as president of the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA) for the years 2021-2023. The four vice presidents are Thomas Duffy from Ireland, Anne-Catherine Dalcq from Belgium, Adam Nowak from Poland and Doris Letina from Slovenia.

European Partnership for Energy and the Environment: Folker Franz, a German public affairs professional, will assume the role of director-general of the air conditioning and refrigerating lobby EPEE on August 1.

Fair Standards Alliance: Alexander Prenter is now senior policy officer at the Fair Standards Alliance. He previously worked at Lighthouse Europe as a senior public affairs consultant.

Finsbury Glover Hering: Finsbury Glover Hering has hired a former spokesperson of the European Commission in Germany, Reinhard Hönighaus, who is joining the Berlin and Brussels team as managing director. Meanwhile, Ayrton Thevissen is joining the leadership team of the firm’s government relations, policy and advocacy practice in Brussels as managing director. He joins from the Brunswick Group.

Fourtold: Tatu Liimatainen is the new director of EU public affairs at strategic communications and public affairs consultancy Fourtold.Marina Sarkisian formerly with Politico also joins Fourtold as a consultant.

Grayling: Public affairs consultancy Grayling has added three new members to its EU team in Brussels: Hannah ThominetDorottya Meszner and Ruth Artiles Valero.

Interel: Ana Roios from Avisa Partners is moving to Interel as associate director, energy & climate. Alexandre Boyer has moved to Interel as senior consultant, sustainability. He was previously with Rud Pedersen public affairs. And Noel Morrin, former chief sustainability officer of Stora Enso, has joined Interel as senior adviser, sustainability.

International Rescue Committee: Harlem Désir has joined the International Rescue Committee as senior vice president, Europe.

Offshore Wind Foundations Alliance (OWFA): OWFA is a new renewable energy lobby which counts Belgium’s Smulders Projects, Denmark’s Bladt Industries, Germany’s EEW Special Pipe Constructions and Steelwind Nordenham, and the Netherlands’ SIF Netherlands as founding members.

Rud Pedersen: Abby Rowan has joined Rud Pedersen as an associate director, working for clients across the tech, energy and mobility sectors. Rowan joins from FIPRA, where she was an account director.

Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg:  López-Alvarez, a senior managing director at FTI Consulting in Brussels, has been unanimously elected as the new president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Teneo: Philippe Blanchard takes the helm as president for Continental Europe at Teneo. He was previously a managing partner at Brunswick Group. And Ursula Burns was named as chairwoman of Teneo’s global operation.

Weber Shandwick: Sofia Brandão has been promoted to account director.
