THE 2ND EU ENERGY POLICY SUMMIT

Organized by Business Bridge Europe, European Business Summit with the participation of the EU Institutions and in cooperation with the key industries, the 2nd edition of the Energy Policy Summit was held in Brussels on 23 February 2016

  • to assess  the implementation and impact of the legal and technical tools adopted by the EU in recent years aimed to improve the European energy market’s integration and its efficiency,
  • to debate how the EU should continue to develop and deepen its policies and initiatives in the energy field while ensuring their optimal consistency with the fight against climate change, as well as with business competitiveness, industry, trade and foreign relations constraints.

Topics covered discussed included:  the new energy market design, the reinforcement of energy security, the consumers’ role, the increasing share of renewable energy, the energy efficiency and savings, safe and low-carbon energy generation, regional cooperation, transparency and governance, internal electricity market design, resilient gas market, funding of new energy generation and network infrastructures, improvement of research and innovation developments, etc.

The Summit brought together representatives of national and European institutions, authorities, industry, research centres, civil society and media, for public discussion and debate between the main high level political and industrial decision-makers and all the participants.
