AALEP-GR LEAGUE JOINT RESOLUTION TRIGGERS A RESPONSE BY EC CHIEF

In a letter to President Putin that was written during the G20 summit in Antalya on Nov. 16, President Juncker stated he had recently emphasized the importance of "good relations between the European Union and Russia," which "have not been able to develop over the past year." The promises made by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to Russian President Vladimir Putin  is to “be a helpful partner” in the efforts to resume trade with Russia.

"I have always found the idea of an integrated trade area linking Lisbon to Vladivostok to be an important and valuable objective. Trade not only fosters growth but creates links between businesses and citizens and allows interests to converge," said the EC chief.

"I can assure you that the European Commission will be a helpful partner in this process. I have asked my diplomatic adviser Richard Szostak to follow this issue closely," said Juncker.

For reminder AALEP-GR LEAGUE Joint Resolution emphasized that enhanced cooperation between civil societies, businesses and the mobility and exchange of entrepreneurs, managers, students, teachers, professors, researchers in order to facilitate people-to-people and B2B contact will provide a visible and tangible testimony to sustainable relations and have a positive effect on EU-Russia relations.
