The Ad Hoc Ethical Committee was created by a Commission Decision in 2003 and is composed of three members: a former judge of the General Court of the European Union, a former Member of the European Parliament and a former Director-General of the European Commission. A Unit in the Secretariat-General of the Commission acts as a secretariat of the Ethical Committee. As of this date members of the Ad Hoc Committee include Mr. Christiaan Timmermans, Ms. Dagmar Roth-Behrendt and Mr. Heinz Zourek.
