1 million Afghans were killed by Soviets between 1979 an 1989.
The Soviets lost 13,310 soldiers and had 35,478 wounded
Since 2001, at least 47,245 civilians have been killed in the war
The Afghan military and police are estimated to have lost between 66,000 and 69, 000 soldiers
2.7 million Afghans have fled abroad mostly to Iran, Pakistan and Europe. . Another 4 million are displaced within the country.
The number of rebels, including Taliban fighters killed is estimated to be 84, 191
