Over the past few years, France’s influence in Africa has been on the decline. This decline can be attributed to a number of factors, including a changing global geopolitical landscape and increasing competition from other countries (China, Russia, Turkey, USA)

Criticism of France’s Approach

Since the start of the invasion, the EU has condemned in the strongest possible terms Russia’s illegal, unprovoked and unjustified military aggression against Ukraine and its attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, and has called for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all Russian troops from the entire territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders.
